Since years both EDYTA GEPPERT and KROKE
are constituents of the Polish music scene.
But whereas Kroke are well known outside Poland meanwhile, Edyta is a „sleeper“
beyond the Polish border, only known to specialists.
So it’s high time for a change, and it’s ORIENTE MUSIK to give
it a trial.
For a long time Edyta Geppert has deserved the favour of the Polish audience
as a striking singer. She released a bunch of LPs and CDs and performed countless
concerts and tours throughout Poland. Her versatility and expressiveness make
her the “grande dame” of Polish chanson, a living proof for the
musical treasures that wait for being unearthed in Eastern Europe.
The CD „Spiewam Zycie – I Sing Life“ bursts the chains of
categories like world music, Folk or Chanson. The distinctive instrumental
style of Kroke, based on their Jewish and East European roots, joins perfectly
the expressive voice of Edyta and the ambitious lyrics of the Polish songs.
